Gang of gold thieves arrested in Amara

MISSAN / IraqiNews.com: Southern Iraq’s Missan police has detained a gang, specialized in stealing gold ornaments north of Amara city, the capital of Missan Province , a security source reported on Sunday.   “An anti-crimes directorate detachments have managed to detain a 4-member gang, specialized in stealing golden ornaments in Ali al-Gharbi township, 100 km to the north of Amara,” the security source told IraqiNews.com news agency.   He said the police had also found 18,000 US dollars and 2.5 million Iraqi dinars, along with quantities of gold, when they inspected the houses of the defendants.   Amara, the center of Missan Province , is 390 km to the south of Baghdad .
