Iranian delegation arrives in Basra for vet. conf.

BASRA / IraqiNews.com: An Iranian delegation arrived in Basra on Friday to attend the 1st conference on veterinary medicine hosted in the province next week, according to the meeting’s preparatory board chairman. “Delegations from Egypt and India as well as researchers from Iraqi and Iraq Kurdistan universities will be arriving on Saturday (Oct. 16) to participate in the conference that is organized by the veterinary medicine college in Basra University,” Dr. Alaa Abdulkhaleq Hussein told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The two-day event will discuss issues pertaining to pure veterinary sciences, air pollution and animal wealth, in addition to a brainstorming on several scientific researches,” he said. The oil-rich port city of Basra, Iraq’s only outlet to waterways, lies 590 km south of the Iraqi capital Baghdad. AmR (P) 1
