Iraqi Kurdistan, foreign universities sign MoUs

ARBIL / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi Kurdistan Region universities signed dozens of memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with foreign universities, according to the region’s minister of higher education and scientific research on Thursday. “I have called on representatives of foreign universities attending the international conference to activate scientific research in Iraqi Kurdistan to dedicate places for the region’s students in their universities and research centers,” Dilawer Alaaeddin said during a press conference after the event was concluded in the Kurdish city of Arbil today (Dec. 16). The conference, which started on Tuesday to discuss ways to refresh scientific research in the semi-autonomous region, was attended by 800 Kurdish, Iraqi and foreign academic figures. The inaugural session of the meeting was attended by Iraqi Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Burham Saleh and Turkish Minister of National Education Nimet Cubukcu. AmR (P) 31
