Iraq’s Elections Commission withdraws case against Dr. Hashim Hassan

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraq ’s High Independent Elections Commission (HIEC) has decided to withdraw its legal case against the Dean of the Media Collage, Dr. Hashim Hassan, its official spokesman said on Thursday.   The said decision came after conflicted reports about the withdrawal of the case against Dr. Hassan by the HIEC, due to the case it had raised against al-Mashriq and al-Barlaman newspapers.   “The Commission’s decision was issued late Wednesday night to withdraw the legal case against al-Mashriq and al-Barlaman newspapers, as well as the one against Dr. Hashim Hassan,” Qassim Aboudy told IraqiNews.com news agency.   The HIEC had raised the said cases, along with a case against Legislature Hanan al-Fatalwy, to question the HIEC, in the background of an article, written by Dr. Hassan against the Commission.   SKH (ST)   505
