Iraq’s Planning Minister opens the General Census Exhibition

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraq‘s Planning Minister, Ali Baban, has opened in Baghdad on Wednesday the works of the General Census Exhibition, taking place on the occasion of the International Census Day The occasion was decided to be attended by Iraq‘s Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki and a number of his cabinet ministers and parliament members, along with the Representative of the UN Secretary General in Iraq, as well as representatives of the international organizations acting in Iraq, under-secretaries, the Higher Committee for General Census, University rectors, deans and professors, and social security representatives.. Noteworthy is that the UN Census Committe (UNSD) had called for the celebration of the International Census Day on October 20th of each year, under the slogan: “Celebration of the Several Achievements of the Official Censuses,” calling on this occasion to escalate the participation carried out out by official censuses, based on human values.
