Karbala Health Dept confiscates 40 tons of Belgian milk, containing Colon Bacteria

  KARBALA / IraqiNews.com: Southwestern Iraq’s Karbala Province ’s Health Department has announced on Tuesday the confiscation of 40 tons of Belgian milk, charging that it contained the so-called colon bacteria.   “ Karbala ’s Health Observation Department has confiscated about 40 tons and 800 kg of Belgian milk, after medical checkups that showed its containing of colon bacteria, above the medically-permitted limits,” Dr. Alaa Hammoudi told IraqiNews.com news agency.   Dr. Hammoudi said that the above materials existed in a store belonging to the private sector, kept in 1,700 boxes in an incorrect manner and in a place that is not insured environmentally.   Karbala , the center of the province carrying the same name, is 108 km to the south of Baghdad .   SKH (ST)
