BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraq ’s Minister of State and the government’s Official Spokesman, Ali al-Dabbagh, had conferred in Baghdad on Tuesday with officials of Baghdad Province and a delegation, representing demonstrators and journalists, the mechanism of following up the demands of citizens and rendering necessary services for them, a statement by Dabbagh’s office reported on Wednesday. “The meeting, attended by the Chairman of Baghdad’s Provincial Council, Kamel al-Zaidy, Baghdad Governor, Salah Abdul-Razzaq, the Chairman of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate, Moayad al-Lamy and a large number of journalists, as well as the Chairman of the Free Youth Gatherinng, Jalal al-Shahmany, discussed the demands of Baghdad citizens and means to present necessary services for them,” the statement pointed out. It added that the meeting had witnessed horizons of frankness and courage in discussing the obstacles that confront different executive offices and their contacts with citizens, as well as the serious contribution and cooperation to present better services for those citizens. The majority of Iraqi provinces had witnessed broad protest demonstrations over the past few weeks against the deterioration of services and demanding political reforms, as well as calls for putting an end to the phenomena of administrative corruption and unemployment, that caused several casualties among demonstrators and Iraqi security forces.
