Mongol Ruler Hulagu’s dagger found with smuggling gang in Kirkuk:
KIRKUK / IraqiNews.com: The dagger of the Mongol Ruler, Hulagu, was found with a gang, smuggling archaeological antiquities, trying to smuggle it outside Iraq, the Security Director of northern Iraq‘s Kirkuk city said on Wednesday. “The joint forces of our National Security, in coordination with the National Investigation Office has arrested today (Wednesday) a three-man gang, specialized in smuggling archaeological antiquities, in an inspection operation inside Kirkuk city,” Nawzad Asaad al-Barazani told IraqiNews.com news agency. He said that the members of the gang had been planning to smuggle three archaeological antiquities, dating back to the pre-Islam era, including a dagger that belonged to the Mongol Ruler, Hulagu, whilst another antique belonged to the era of King Hammurabi of ancient Iraq, adding no further details. The oil-rich city of Kirkuk, is 280 kms to the north of Baghdad. KK (A) / SKH 359
