MP congratulates IraqiNews.com on Seymour Hersh Award
BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Mohammad Eqbal, a member of the parliament, sent on Thursday a cable of congratulation to IraqiNews.com news agency on receiving the Seymour Hersh Investigative Journalism Award. IraqiNews.com news agency’s Journalists Dlouvan Prawri and Milad al-Juburi won the first and second awards of Seymour Hersh for the best investigative report in the Arab World in 2010, among 11 Arab countries. The Award is named for Seymour Hersh, a Pulitzer Prize-Winning Investigative reporter for the New Yorker. Hersh is best known for work that exposed the Vietnam-era My Lai massacre by U.S. forces in 1968, and the Abu Gharib prison abuses in Iraq in 2005. In 2009, Hersh received the ICFJ Founders Award for Excellence in Journalism. SH (P)/SR 1
