Parliament decides to question Baghdad’s Lord-Mayor

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: A Leader in Iraq’s State of Law Alliance, led by Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, has said on Sunday that the Parliament has decided to question the Lord-Mayor of Baghdad, following existence of charges of financial and administrative corruption in the distribution of lands on citizens in the Iraqi capital. “A Parliament meeting was held today (Sunday) between the Parliament’s Speaker and different political forces, that decided to assign next Tuesday as a date for questioning Baghdad‘s Lord-Mayor, Saber al-Issawi, due to the existence of financial and administrative charges, related to the distribution of lands in Baghdad,” Shirwan al-Waely told a news conference, attended by IraqiNews.com news agency. 78
