School nutrition program for over half a million children launched

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The World Food Programme (WFP) announced today the initiation of “school nutrition program” for more than half a million Iraqi children, in cooperation with the Iraqi Ministry of Education, according to UNAMI statement. The statement, received by IraqiNews.com, said the program will start with the new year 2011-2012 with the aim of reaching 550,000 children in primary school. According to the program, the students will have a small meal at mid-day, in order to limit their hunger for better study and development.
