Spain to return Iraqi antiquities – official

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi Antiquities media department announced the success to convince the Spanish authorities to return some of Iraqi antiquities that dated back to the Assyrian era. Tanaheed Mohammed told IraqiNews.com that the department convinced the Spanish authorities to return 22 tablets with a necklace that dated back to the Assyrian period, at a time the Spanish side refused under the pretext that they belong to south American heritage. Negotiations with the Spanish ministry of culture took a long time, till they were convinced that these antiquities belong to Iraqi culture, she added.RM (TP)/SRNumber of Reads:15
