Turkey demands Iraq use of new water technology

ARBIL / IraqiNews.com: Kurdish agriculture and water resource director general stated that the Turkish side demands us to use modern technology in water utilization, because the water goes to the Gulf without any use.   Ali Rasheed Ahmed told IraqiNews.com that “our administration recommended to the central government building dams, because this matter is its sole responsibility.” He pointed out that “there are 28 dams under construction and 11 under design.” As concerns the water position in the region, Ahmed pointed out that “there is abundance of water in the region, but we need better water management, in addition to using new technology for irrigation systems.” RM (TS)/SR 668
