Two Investment Projects Granted in Thi Qar

THI QAR / IraqiNews.com: Thi Qar Investment Commission granted today two permissions to build a housing complex in  and Great Mall in Shatra Qadha’ (administrative unit), with a cost of 36 billion Iraqi dinars.  Head of the Commission Dr. Lo’ay Al-Kheiralla called for lifting the political and routine obstacles that face the investment in the country.  The housing complex contains 240 units with a cost of 16.5 million dollars.  The Mall consists of five floors and underground garage with a cost of 15 million dollars.  Dr. Kheiralla pointed out that the obstacles are political and some connected with the central laws that have the socialist connotations, not the mentality of investment and free capital.  Head of the Planning committee at the Provincial Council Ahmed Taha Al-Sheikh confirmed that “we need the cooperation of all segments of the society to find new and real investment”.  He criticized the administrative selfishness and misuse of power, which all obstruct the investment process in the country.  The complex contains houses with 200 square meters, with different designs, as requested by the citizens in addition to primary school, women spa and similar one for men, and commercial center.  The mall will be build on 5860 square meters with six floors, the ground floor will be a parking area   Thi Qar investment commission announced, lately, that it granted 27 permission in different industrial, engineering, construction and housing spheres, but most were not implemented due to adminimstrative and routine difficulties, mostly on handing over the lands to the investors.  Nasiriyah city, center of Thi Qar province, lies 380 km south of the capital, Baghdad.
