Two-year imprisonment for Interior Ministry Commander for getting bribe

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Iraqi Interior Ministry’s Commander of the Rapid Interference Brigade has been sentenced for two years imprisonment and payment of a fine, after being convicted for getting bribe, according to the Integrity Commission on Tuesday.   “The Commander of the Rapid Deployment Brigade in the Interior Ministry had been sentenced for 2-year imprisonment and the payment of 1.2 million dinar fine, after being convicted for getting a bribe,” the Commission reported.   It charged the Commander, whose name was not given, with having got US$50,000 as a bribe from a contractor last March.   SKH (PT)
