UNAMI Chief in Kirkuk to discuss its dossiers

KIRKUK / IraqiNews.com: The Chairman of the UN Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI), Ad Melkert, has arrived in northern Iraq ’s city of Kirkuk on an official visit to discuss a number of dossiers, a Kirkuk media source said on Wednesday.   “UNAMI’s Chairman, Ad Melkert, has arrived in Kirkuk Province ’s Council, on an official visit, during which he conferred with Kirkuk Governor, Najmiddin Karim, Deputy Governor, Rakan Saeed al-Jibouri and the Council’s Chairman, Hassan Touran,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency.   “Melkert is to meet members of Kirkuk ’s Kurdish Fraternity List Members, along with members of the Arab and Turkish Lists, and to hold a news conference on Wednesday afternoon, to explain the motives of his visit and the topics, discussed with officials of Kirkuk ’s Council and Administration,” he said.   Kirkuk is 250 km to the northeast of the Iraqi capital of Baghdad .   SKH (ST)
