UNICEF calls for “urgent” allocations for children

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: UNICEF representative called Iraqi provinces to allocate more “urgent” investment allocations for children, on the International Child Day, according to UNAMI statement. The statement, copy received by IraqiNews.com, added that many functions shall be made in different Iraqi provinces, including a prize for Child Rights of 2012, festivities with the participation of 150 children in Najaf province, in addition to other workshops on the rights of children in Duhuk province. It added that Iraq praises the progress achieved last year to guarantee the rights of the child in the country, such as establishing a child care authority and policies to protect children.
