URGENT: Iraq’s imported petrol includes cancer, official says

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The petrol, imported by Iraq ’s Ministry of Oil, includes cancer that causes destruction of children’s brains, the Chairman of the Parliament’s Integrity Committee, has stated on Monday, saying that his Committee “is investigating the dossiers of corruption in Iraq ’s Foreign Ministry.”   “One of the most important corruption dossiers that will be presented to the Judiciary and the Integrity Commission is the petrol imported by the Iraqi Oil Ministry,” Bahaa al-Aaraji told IraqiNews.com news agency, charging that the “Ministry had been adding the 4 th Athel-Carbon material to the petrol, with large percentages, the material that had been proven to include cancer material that causes destruction of children’s brains.”   Aaraji said that the Iraqi Ministries of Environment, Higher Education & Scientific Research and Foreign Affairs, have confirmed that the said material included cancer,” charging that the said petrol had been imported from China.   “The Parliament shall summon the current Iraqi Oil Minister, despite fact that he was not responsible for the said incident,” he added, charging that the Iraqi Foreign Ministry “had been accused with corruption, related to the holding of the Baghdad Arab Summit, the issue under discussion by the Integrity Commission.”   The Iraqi Parliament has began its 16th session early in the day, including the 1 st reading of the draft-law on Political Parties, the discussion of the government’s program and several other topics.   SKH (RT)
