Woman professor receives post of Collage Dean in southern Iraq’s university, for first time

DIWANIYA / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi Professor, Dr. Batoul Mutar Abadi al-Jibouri, has received the post of Acting Dean for the Collage of Administration & Economy in southern Iraq ’s Qadisiya University in Diwania Province , being the first time a women was appointed in such post in southern Iraq ’s Central Euphrates area, it was reported in Diwaniya on Tuesday.   “My appointment for the said post, despite it was decided on acting basis, but it represented an important development towards the vision of the Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research, giving the woman a role in leading the society’s intellectuals and to estimate the role of the Iraqi woman in the field of construction, science and culture, being a sign of goodness for the entrance of women in the leadership of the society,” Dr. Batoul told IraqiNews.com news agency.   Dr. Batoul said that her collage had completed its preparations to carry out the final examinations for the current academic year, scheduled to begin on Wednesday, with more than 2,000 students from both sexes would sit for those examinations in the Statistics, Accounting and Business Administration in the Collage of Administration & Economy in Qadisiya University.   Qadisiya University was established in 1987, with two collages of Administration & Economy and the Collage of Education, where its students have exceeded 16,000 boys and girls.   Diwaniya, the center of Diwaniya Province , is 180 km to the south of Baghdad .   SKH (IT) 717
